Job Requirement for Manager - Overview

The Manager is responsible for all areas relating to Accounting, Financial Reporting & Tax Compliances. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements of our Clients. The Manager supervises six associates and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities of clients including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, tax compliances, year end audit assistance and the support of budget and forecast activities for our clients. The Manager will have contact with the Company's CEO which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

 

Job Description for Manager

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the clients financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close of clients financial statements.
  • Assisting in ensuring the timely reporting of all monthly financial information of the client.
  • Ensuring that the direct and indirect tax compliances are met before the due dates.
  • Assisting the client in ensuring that the monthly and quarterly bank reconciliation activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assisting the client in preparation of budget and forecasting activities.
  • Monitors and analyzes work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Responds to inquiries from the client regarding matters of Accounting, Finance and Taxation.
  • Assistance in ensuring a clean and timely year end audit.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the team.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed on the latest amendments under the various statutes applicable to the client.
  • Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Technical Skills and Prior Experience

2 to 3 years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/ general ledger area, direct and indirect tax. Experience working in a CA firm or professional services firm/ company is preferred.

Must have excellent knowledge of Tally ERP & MS Excel and familiarity with relevant computer softwares (Eg. Quickbooks).

Must be organized, accurate and detail oriented.
  Must have a strong sense of integrity.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.

Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
